About the Role
This role involves conducting research in knowledge representation, knowledge graphs, ontologies, and neurosymbolic AI within the GUARD project, focusing on interoperability, ontology alignment, validation, and benchmarking. The position requires developing reproducible open-source validation methods, creating evaluation datasets, disseminating findings, and collaborating with partners.
Responsibilities
- Conduct research in knowledge representation, knowledge graphs, ontologies, and neurosymbolic AI within the GUARD project.
- Focus on interoperability, ontology alignment, validation, and benchmarking.
- Develop reproducible open-source validation methods using OWL integrity constraints and Datalog reasoning.
- Create evaluation datasets.
- Disseminate findings through publications and conferences.
- Collaborate with partners including The Alan Turing Institute and Dstl.
- Support the project's long-term sustainability and impact.
Requirements
- Hold an MSc (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related discipline.
- Possess research experience in Knowledge Graphs, Ontologies, Semantic Web technologies, or related AI fields.
- Have a track record of research publications.
- Demonstrate strong software development skills in a mainstream programming language.
- Exhibit the ability to conduct independent research.
- Communicate complex technical concepts effectively.
- Collaborate within multidisciplinary teams.
- Produce high-quality publications and reports.
- Build positive relationships with stakeholders, collaborators, and project partners.
