About the Role

Join RBC as a Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain stable, scalable data assets in Snowflake that power enterprise reporting and analytics. You will work closely with analytics, business intelligence, and stakeholder teams to create reusable, well-documented data infrastructure enabling self-service reporting in Power BI.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement robust data models and transformations in Snowflake
  • Build and optimize ETL/ELT processes
  • Create modular, well-documented data assets
  • Monitor and optimize query performance, data warehouse design, and compute utilization
  • Collaborate with BI developers to structure Snowflake objects for optimal Power BI connectivity
  • Establish and maintain data lineage documentation, naming conventions, and best practices
  • Implement role-based access controls, data quality checks, and lineage tracking
  • Troubleshoot data issues, support stakeholders, and maintain data pipeline stability

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or related quantitative discipline
  • 3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or similar role
  • Advanced proficiency in Snowflake (data modeling, SQL optimization, warehouse design)
  • Strong SQL skills with experience in complex transformations
  • Experience building production ETL/ELT pipelines
  • Familiarity with cloud data platforms and distributed computing concepts
  • Understanding of dimensional modeling and BI tool integration
  • Experience with version control and CI/CD practices
  • Experience with dbt (data build tool) or similar transformation frameworks
  • Knowledge of Power BI and BI best practices
  • Python or similar scripting language proficiency
  • Snowflake certifications
  • Experience with data quality and monitoring tools
