About the Role
We are seeking a Staff Site Reliability Engineer to enhance the observability and operation of our production cloud platform, which supports clinical workflows and a vast ultrasound image repository. This is a hands-on technical role where you will lead through execution.
Responsibilities
- Own observability end to end, evolving and streamlining metrics, logs, and distributed-tracing strategy.
- Build telemetry standards to provide clear, real-time production health visibility for all teams.
- Drive reliability through SLOs by establishing meaningful objectives with product and engineering teams.
- Use error budgets to balance velocity against stability.
- Lead incident response, setting standards for the feedback loop.
- Manage on-call rotations for production systems and respond to incidents with calm and rigor.
- Manage blameless postmortems and systematically reduce toil.
- Operate and improve Kubernetes/EKS workloads on AWS.
- Build automation and tooling to eliminate manual operational work and boost developer productivity.
- Mentor engineers on operational excellence.
- Set standards for building observable and reliable services.
- Influence architecture decisions across teams.
Requirements
- 8+ years of managing production systems
- Deep, hands-on production experience with AWS and Kubernetes
- Strong programming/scripting skills and experience building operational automation
- Proven ownership of a full stack observability platform (NewRelic/Datadog/etc)
- A track record of leading incident response and delivering improvements in reliability
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Strong desire for being a mentor to others
- Background operating in a highly regulated or compliance-sensitive environment (e.g., HIPAA, SOC 2, FedRAMP, SaMD, etc).
- Background in technical Healthcare Protocols (DICOM, HL7, FHIR) and systems integrations (PACS, VNA, EMR, etc)
- Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States.
