About the Role
The Assistant Building Systems Technician will assist the Building Systems Engineer in the installation, maintenance, repair, and operation of various building and site systems.
Responsibilities
- Assist in diagnosing and troubleshooting of system issues, including electrical, mechanical, and plumbing.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance tasks, including filter changes, sensor calibration, equipment inspections, belt adjustments, lubrication, and cleaning of equipment.
- Assist with the installation and commissioning of HVAC, electrical, and other systems under the guidance of the Building Systems Engineer.
- Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs on equipment as necessary.
- Follow established procedures and safety protocols while performing various installations and repairs.
- Complete work orders, service reports, and maintenance logs accurately and in a timely manner.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment at job sites and comply with all safety regulations.
- Assist with conducting inspections and assessments of various systems to identify areas for improvement or upgrades.
- Provide excellent customer service and communication to our clients and property tenants.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or relevant coursework preferred.
- Basic understanding of building systems and controls.
- 2+ years of experience working in commercial buildings.
- Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, equipment manuals, and work orders required to perform maintenance and service.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Regularly required to talk and hear.
- Position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day.
- Must frequently lift and/or move items over 75 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Salary/Compensations
- $22.00 - $30.00/hour
