About the Role

Citi is seeking a Senior Vice President, Card Payments Partnership & Commercialization to spearhead strategic partnerships that drive growth within the U.S. Consumer Cards division. This role is key to identifying, structuring, and executing complex partner relationships to shape the future of Citi's payments business.

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute short- and long-term partnership strategies for the U.S. Consumer Cards division, aligned to growth objectives and financial targets.
  • Lead end-to-end evaluation of strategic transactions, conducting rigorous financial, operational, and commercial analyses to build compelling business cases.
  • Identify and engage potential partners, structure deal frameworks, and negotiate and execute complex agreements with senior external stakeholders.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of partner programs from sourcing and evaluation through to acquisition and long-term retention, coordinating across internal and external teams.
  • Develop and deliver high-quality materials for executive and partner audiences, articulating strategic rationale, deal constructs, and performance outcomes.
  • Drive product and digital innovation by identifying new approaches to deliver customer value, improve performance, and optimize commercial processes.
  • Assess business, partner, and market dynamics to inform partnership strategy and ensure sustained competitive positioning.
  • Ensure contractual compliance across all partner programs, applying sound commercial judgment and maintaining clear accountability for risk and governance standards.

Requirements

  • 10 or more years of progressive experience in financial services, with a focus on partnerships, business development, or strategic commercialization.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage large-scale, senior-level partnership relationships through full deal lifecycles, from origination to execution.
  • In-depth knowledge of the payments industry, digital commerce, and financial services, with the ability to translate market insight into actionable strategy.
  • Proven ability to negotiate and structure complex commercial agreements, engaging effectively with senior executives across internal and external organizations.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence decisions across all levels of a matrixed organization.
  • Strong financial acumen, including the ability to build and evaluate business cases, assess deal economics, and model strategic scenarios.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
