About the Role
The Senior Research Statistician provides statistical support to the research and development organization, focusing on areas such as clinical trials, patient safety, and global medical affairs. This role partners with experts across multiple disciplines to advance medicines for patients.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the design, analysis, and reporting of clinical trials or scientific research studies.
- Assist with the development of protocols and statistical analysis plans.
- Implement statistical methodology in scientific investigations under supervision.
- Assist in identifying appropriate data collection instruments and reporting data issues.
- Provide programming specifications for derived variables and analysis datasets.
- Collaborate with Data Science in preparing for database lock.
- Perform statistical analyses as per the analysis plan under supervision.
- Collaborate with Statistical Programming to ensure high-quality outputs.
- Evaluate software appropriateness for planned analyses and assess needs for novel statistical methodology.
- Develop strategy for data presentation and inference under supervision.
- Ensure appropriate interpretation of statistical deliverables.
- Collaborate in the publication of scientific research.
- Ensure accuracy and internal consistency of reports and publications.
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Clearly explain statistical concepts to non-statisticians.
- Provide responses to questions and pursue analyses suggested by data under supervision.
- Support communications between product teams and functional management.
- Build and drive cross-functional relationships and collaboration.
Requirements
- MS or PhD in Statistics, Biostatistics, or a highly related field.
- 4+ years of experience performing statistical computations and simulations.
- High degree of technical competence and effective communication skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to build strong relationships with peers and cross-functional partners.
- Highly motivated to drive innovation by raising the bar and challenging the status quo.
- Ability to identify data or analytical issues and assist with providing solutions.
