About the Role
You will define Growth Design at Vercel, shaping the complete self-serve journey for people and agents, from signup to retention. You will report into Product Design and collaborate closely with Growth Product, Engineering, and Data, with the autonomy to move from problem identification to shipped solutions. Vercel provides unlimited access to leading LLMs and in-house tools for product data exploration, with opportunities to improve tools directly. This role requires comfort with ambiguity, evolving priorities, and validating hypotheses through experimentation and data analysis.
Responsibilities
- Own the self-serve experience across onboarding, activation, adoption, monetization, and retention for people and agents.
- Find high-impact opportunities through customer research, product data, and direct use of Vercel.
- Co-own Growth strategy, priorities, hypotheses, and success measures with Growth Product, Engineering, and Data.
- Build and test working prototypes using the right tools for the question, including Figma, v0, Cursor, and Claude Code.
- Design and ship experiments, stay involved through implementation, and interpret results without losing sight of trust, accessibility, or the broader funnel.
- Turn what works into durable product improvements, reusable patterns, and better internal tools.
- Share learning to improve Design and Growth with every experiment.
Requirements
- Portfolio demonstrates strong product design fundamentals and measurable outcomes, showing opportunity identification, funnel understanding, measurement selection, idea testing, and product improvement.
- Proven ability to own ambiguous, complex work from problem framing through launch and iteration, creating clarity and making progress independently.
- Skilled in forming useful hypotheses, choosing success and guardrail measures, and interpreting quantitative and qualitative evidence with Data partners.
- Ability to build interactive prototypes independently using modern AI tools, comfortable with prompting, working near code, and learning new tools for validation.
- Designs clear, trustworthy experiences across skill levels and abilities, with attention to interaction details, edge cases, language, accessibility, and recovery.
- Collaborates directly with Product, Engineering, and Data, explaining tradeoffs clearly, seeking feedback early, and staying involved through implementation.
- Knows when to use or evolve a system and when a one-off is the fastest responsible way to learn.
