Responsibilities
- Assist with the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a provider.
- Assist with treatments ordered by a provider or registered nurse, performing select clinical duties.
- Interview patients, measure vital signs, and record information on patient charts.
- Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations.
- Perform basic clerical duties, including answering phones, maintaining records, and filing.
- Perform basic materials management functions, including ordering and stocking supplies.
- Assist with maintaining a clean and orderly environment.
- Document the provider's encounter with patients, including diagnoses, symptoms, and follow-up instructions.
- Transcribe patient orders for laboratory tests, radiology tests, and medications.
Requirements
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
- Medical Assistant credentialed from the National Healthcareer Association, American Medical Certification (AMCA), National Association for Health Professionals, National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), or American Medical Technologists (AMT) obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
- High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
- Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
