About the Role

The Seasonal Golf Course Grounds Maintenance Staff member will assist the Golf Course Maintenance Team with day-to-day demands, ensuring the Golf Course and Grounds appearance is always presentable and in its best condition. This role requires operating equipment safely and responsibly, including landscaping equipment outdoors.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Golf Course Maintenance Team with day-to-day demands.
  • Ensure the Golf Course and Grounds appearance is always presentable and in its best condition.
  • Operate equipment safely and responsibly.
  • Work outdoors and operate landscaping equipment.
  • Operate small equipment such as blowers and trimmers.
  • Operate golf carts safely and efficiently.
  • Use provided Protective equipment when necessary (ear plugs, dust masks, gloves, etc.).
  • Report directly to Assistant Superintendents and Director of Grounds Maintenance.
  • Maintain the golf course grounds including mowing, string trimming, weeding, and backpack blowing.
  • Perform daily maintenance tasks such as raking and cleaning bunkers, repairing divots, and blowing leaves.
  • Mow putting greens and tee boxes.
  • Assist in the preparation of the golf course for tournaments and special events.
  • Monitor and address any potential hazards on the golf course.
  • Assist in the maintenance and upkeep of other landscape areas on the property.
  • Ensure that all safety protocols are followed.
  • Perform any and all maintenance tasks set forth by the Director of Agronomy or Superintendents.
  • Attend and participate in safety training seminars when scheduled.
  • Operate larger equipment after training.
  • Perform other job-related duties assigned by Supervisor or Director.

Requirements

  • Must be able to work April 1st through December 1st (flexible for the right candidate).
  • Regularly exposed to outside weather conditions.
  • Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and toxic or caustic chemicals.
  • Moderate noise level in the environment.
  • May need to work in wet or humid conditions, near moving parts, near fumes or airborne particles, in extreme non-weather heat, and in extreme non-weather cold.
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend, lift, use hands and fingers, reach with hands and arms, talk and/or hear.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs multiple times per day.
  • Must be able to push a cart weighing up to 100lbs.
  • Expect to be on feet for up to 6 hours at a time.
  • Must practice proper body mechanics and use appropriate personal protective equipment to avoid injury.
