About the Role

University Behavioral Associates (UBA) at Montefiore Medical Center is seeking an Outreach Specialist for the federally funded HERO Dads program, which supports fathers and families in the Bronx. This community-facing role involves recruiting, engaging, and enrolling participants, building community relationships, and serving as the primary contact for prospective participants.

Responsibilities

• Conduct community outreach and recruitment activities, including tabling, attending community events, and on-site outreach at partner locations.
• Manage digital outreach and recruitment through social media platforms, responding to inquiries and converting leads.
• Develop and sustain referral relationships with community partner organizations.
• Represent HERO Dads at community meetings, coalition forums, and partner events.
• Follow up with prospective participants and re-engage disengaged participants.
• Provide resources and referrals to participants.
• Document outreach activities, client contacts, and enrollment data accurately in program databases.
• Prepare weekly and monthly reports for program leadership.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate services and communicate participant updates.
• Participate in team meetings, group supervision, and required trainings.
• Support continuous quality improvement (CQI) processes by maintaining accurate and timely data.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required, in Social Work, Psychology, Public Health, Human Services, or a related field preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to engage diverse communities with cultural humility.
• Ability to exercise independent judgment when assessing participant circumstances and developing individualized engagement strategies.
• Comfort working with individuals facing multiple barriers, including housing instability, employment challenges, and justice system involvement.
• Experience using Facebook and/or Instagram for community outreach or digital recruitment preferred.
• Familiarity with nFORM or similar CRM/data management systems preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) required.
• Experience working with non-custodial fathers, fatherhood programs, justice-involved individuals, or low-income families strongly preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred, but not required.
• Must be available to work some evenings and occasional weekends.
