About the Role
The Head Engagement & Services Marketing for the Individual Business defines and leads Guardian's engagement strategy across the customer and financial professional lifecycle. This role drives strategies, capabilities, and transformation initiatives to strengthen relationships, improve customer experiences, increase retention, and accelerate business growth. The position serves as the marketing leader for enterprise segmentation, lifecycle marketing, customer journey optimization, underwriting transformation, and cross-functional initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Define and lead the enterprise engagement strategy across customer, advisor, and employer audiences, ensuring a connected and consistent experience across all business lines.
- Own enterprise segmentation, targeting, and personalization strategies that drive growth, retention, and customer value.
- Lead lifecycle marketing and customer journey optimization efforts across acquisition, onboarding, servicing, retention, expansion, and advocacy.
- Represent Marketing in enterprise transformation initiatives, including underwriting modernization, digital enablement, servicing transformation, and customer experience innovation.
- Partner with Product, Distribution, Operations, Technology, Data & Analytics, Consumer Advocacy, and Enterprise Transformation teams to create integrated engagement strategies and scalable solutions.
- Establish engagement frameworks, governance, and measurement standards that improve customer outcomes and business performance.
- Leverage customer insights, behavioral data, advisor feedback, and emerging technologies to inform strategy, accelerate innovation, and modernize engagement capabilities.
- Build and lead a high-performing team while fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- At least 10 years of experience in marketing, with a focus on customer engagement and service marketing within the financial services or insurance industry.
- Experience in loyalty, life cycle and segmentation marketing.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across all levels of the organization.
- Strong knowledge of digital marketing and email systems, marketing technology and analytical tools.
- Creative and strategic thinker with the ability to work through unstructured problems and develop clear action plans and priorities.
- Data-driven marketer with expertise in leveraging data to make decisions, drive prioritization and demonstrate impact.
- Strong presentation skills; effective communicator at all levels of organizations.
- High energy, self-starter, team-oriented, innovative and entrepreneurial spirit.
- Service and customer-first orientation is a must.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States, without the need for employer sponsorship/support now or at any time in the future.
