About the Role

The Head of Consultant Relations, EMEA develops, manages, and expands relationships with institutional consultants, leveraging Northern Trust Asset Management's (NTAM’s) full suite of products and capabilities. This role identifies new opportunities to obtain capability ratings by consultants and expand adoption of NTAM capabilities with both shared and prospective clients.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the relationship-building activities for a group of institutional consultants including tier 1-4 organizations.
  • Collaborate closely with Consultant Relations partners to service the global consulting firms.
  • Position institutional asset management products and services with the goal of obtaining favorable consultant ratings.
  • Identify new consultant prospects by researching potential needs and prioritizing engagement strategies.
  • Engage with field consultants to further advance NTAM’s presence.
  • Execute upon consultant driven request for proposal responses and fee proposals for prospective clients.
  • Coordinate with internal client service and sales partners to ensure consultant/client relationships are well served.
  • Maintain knowledge of investment products and services by initiating frequent contact with other financial institutions, internal product partners/portfolio managers and keeping abreast of regulations affecting the industry.
  • Maintain high awareness of competitors and their products, services, and differentiating characteristics.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of direct experience interacting with institutional consultants, particularly with respect to their asset management needs.
  • Applicants must have the right to work in the United Kingdom at the time of application and for the duration of employment.

Skills

  • Investment acumen: Knowledge of full range of traditional and alternative asset management solutions, including key high-priority NTAM capabilities, along with awareness of key industry trends influencing institutional investor behavior.
  • Deep understanding of Sustainable investing and Stewardship.
  • Refined communication skills: Ability to communicate, explain, and position NTAM products and services to sophisticated institutional consultants and investors.
  • Ability to differentiate NTAM solutions in a highly competitive marketplace and to successfully support the generation of new revenue for Northern Trust.
  • Strong communication and persuasive skills are critical.
