About the Role

Brex is seeking a leader to build and scale the Spend Conversion function, focusing on migrating enterprise vendor spend onto the Brex platform. This is a 0-to-1 opportunity to define strategy, create an AI-native approach, and drive significant company growth by capturing untapped spend.

Responsibilities

  • Build the Spend Conversion function from the ground up, defining strategy, entry criteria, engagement model, and KPIs.
  • Envision a holistic approach involving key parties and operations from Capital One and 3rd party vendors.
  • Own the end-to-end vendor spend migration motion, from vendor-file analysis and card-acceptance identification through negotiation and card activation.
  • Partner cross-functionally with product, implementation, BD, and sales to bring workflows to market and grow the acceptance database.
  • Advise enterprise customers directly, unlocking spend with strategic vendors and translating goals into migration and negotiation plans.
  • Design a differentiated, AI-native approach to supplier enablement.
  • Establish operational rigor for tracking, reporting, and incentive structures to ensure measurability and scalability.
  • Hire and coach a team of specialists, operating as a player-coach in the early phase.
  • Champion spend conversion internally, educating stakeholders and shaping how Brex captures share-of-wallet.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in B2B/commercial card, payments, supplier enablement, or vendor/payment operations.
  • Demonstrated experience building a function or program from 0-to-1, establishing processes, KPIs, and operating cadences.
  • Working knowledge of card acceptance and merchant economics.
  • Proven ability to negotiate and influence vendors and internal stakeholders.
  • Direct customer-facing experience with enterprise customers, comfortable owning senior relationships.
  • A first-principles, builder mentality.
  • Track record as a cross-functional operator who has shipped alongside product, sales/BD, and implementation.
  • Leadership foundation with experience leading people or major initiatives.
