About the Role

Heavenly Care, a Family Tree Private Care company, is seeking compassionate PRN nurses (RN/LVN) with a passion for service and family values to provide in-home care for the elderly. Nurses will enjoy flexible schedules and a supportive work environment while making a difference in the lives of patients.

Responsibilities

• Travel to assigned patient’s homes and manage their care plan according to physician’s instructions.
• Assess and chart observations of the patient’s condition at each visit.
• Complete evaluation tasks, including reviewing medication and vital signs.
• Dress or redress wounds and assess the healing progress.
• Educate caregivers and family on the aftercare or ongoing care of the patient.
• Keep the patient comfortable through palliative care.
• Recommend tools or devices that may improve the quality of life for the patient.
• Insulin or medication management.

Requirements

• Available to work overnight visits or 1 hour visits in the Hill Country.
• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience working in the home care industry (or related industry – hospice, home health, hospital, etc.).
• Current nursing license and CPR/BLS certification.
• A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport, establish trust with patients, and deliver high-quality care that supports patient comfort and a positive care experience.
• Ability to take the initiative to make independent decisions when required and accept direction and requests from patients.
• Ability to follow instructions but also act independently if necessary.
• Excellent observational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to act swiftly in emergencies and work efficiently.
• Flexibility and patience to work in a variety of living environments.
• Knowledge of clinical skills including changing bandages, giving tube feedings, administering shots, and setting up and monitoring IVs.
• Insulin management.

Salary/Compensations

• 1 hour visit rate: $60+ per visit
• RN pay rate: $45/hr
• LVN pay rate: $40/hr
