About the Role
The Gund Company is seeking a skilled individual to implement Production Fulfillment Process steps for fabricating parts according to work orders and customer requirements. This role ensures machinery is set up correctly and produces materials meeting company quality, quantity, and efficiency standards. As a key member of the team, you will operate numerically controlled machine tools for complex machining operations on a variety of workpieces to exacting tolerances and finish specifications.
Responsibilities
- Operate multiple types of fabrication equipment.
- Set up and operate CNC machining centers in multiple cells, including mills, lathes, presses, and routers.
- Perform progressive machining operations for parts, tools, and machines with close to exacting tolerances.
- Perform advanced setup operations.
- Adjust and check programming.
- Set up machines and instruct other operators.
- Work with team leads and management to lead teams and projects.
- Place and secure work pieces in machine tables or holding devices.
- Load, operate, and manufacture a variety of parts using CNC machining centers.
- Follow written instructions and interpret blueprint specifications.
- Perform work independently with minimal defects.
- Recognize tooling and procedures within established tolerances.
- Complete work order paperwork.
- Check parts for conformance to customer specifications.
- Maintain count and perform packaging duties.
- Participate in cross-training activities.
- Perform routine daily machine maintenance, including cleaning and lubrication.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Provide guidance, feedback, and positive behavior modeling.
- Determine if tools are undamaged and safe for use.
- Make suggestions to improve production and order processing efficiency.
- Assist with training other team members.
- Follow safety rules and quality standards.
- Model ethical and moral behavior consistent with company values.
Requirements
- Requires broad knowledge of machining techniques.
- Familiarity with computer numerically controlled machine tool operating procedures.
- Communicate with supervisor on work order priority.
- Open to change due to emergency orders or fabrication of parts.
- Ability to use basic measuring instruments.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Must be able to work overtime as needed.
