About the Role

The Gund Company has an immediate opening for a full-time Quality Engineer. Responsibilities

  • Drive a systems approach into critical quality processes, consistent with customer expectations and industry standards (ISO 9001:2015, AS9100D).
  • Partner with Operations, Sales, Business Development, and Process Engineering on production preparation, customer requirement review, process development, validation, FMEA, and continuous improvement.
  • Utilize key performance metrics to monitor, identify, and drive opportunities for improvement at product and process levels.
  • Lead the implementation and maintenance of quality system requirements including First Article Inspections, PPAP, customer concerns, process control plans, and customer-specific requirements.
  • Lead projects and problem-solving activities (e.g., 8D, 5 Why, Ishikawa) to resolve customer complaints, internal nonconformances, and audit findings.
  • Conduct trend analysis, execute analytical problem solving, recommend and implement corrective actions, and perform root cause failure analysis.
  • Establish and implement quality plans for new and existing products, including risk management, quality control, and quality assurance activities.
  • Provide quality-related documents to the manufacturing floor, including control plans, control cards, visual aids, graphical instructions, and work instructions.
  • Monitor production processes for conformance to control plans and customer requirements.

Requirements

  • Strong computer skills, especially with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Prior experience with data entry and report analysis in an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, including GD&T.
  • Ability to develop statistical process control and data analysis methods.
  • Strong math skills related to reading and converting technical drawings.
  • Ability to communicate expectations and instructions to all levels of the organization.
  • Desire to identify root cause, develop creative solutions to problems, and continuously improve systems and processes.
  • Bachelor's degree (B.S./B.A.) or equivalent from a college or university in Engineering.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience with an emphasis in a Quality-related role.
  • ASQ CQE – Certified Quality Engineer.
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands to handle and feel, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.
  • Occasionally required to crouch.
  • May occasionally lift items as heavy as 25lbs.
  • Specific vision abilities include the ability to see near and far distances.
