About the Role
Albertus Magnus High School is seeking a passionate and dynamic High School Mathematics Teacher to inspire and empower students. This role involves developing engaging lesson plans, fostering a love for math, and supporting students in achieving their academic goals.
Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive lessons covering core math topics such as algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.
- Design and implement innovative curriculum plans aligned with educational standards.
- Utilize modern learning technology and instructional design principles to enhance classroom engagement.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively while fostering a positive, inclusive atmosphere.
- Assess student progress through various methods and adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
- Provide tutoring and academic advising to support individual student success.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development and educational best practices.
Requirements
- Master's degree and NYS Teaching Certification or equivalent.
- Prior classroom experience teaching high school mathematics or related fields is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated expertise in mathematical subjects including algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.
- Proven ability to develop engaging lesson plans using instructional design tools and learning technology platforms.
- Well-versed in Project-Based Instructional and Assessment practices.
- Strong communication skills for working effectively with students, parents, colleagues, and administrative staff.
- Experience in Catholic and/or private school environments is advantageous.
- Familiarity with standardized testing procedures and curriculum development for diverse learner populations is desirable.
