About the Role
The Senior Marketing Manager will set the vision and goals, and drive the development and execution of the marketing strategy for the Ontario region. This role focuses on building a high-performing, technology-empowered marketing team to support sales professionals, elevate the brand through data-led content, build trusted relationships with sales teams, and support regional sales enablement to win new business. The role also plays an integral part in the global marketing organization.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute marketing activities focused on brand elevation, client services, service line deliverables, and sales enablement.
- Ensure end products reflect Avison Young’s unique differentiators and competitive advantage.
- Act as the knowledge hub for Ontario’s service lines and subject matter experts.
- Coordinate marketing efforts to ensure they are consistent and relevant to individual industries, markets, and the firm.
- Create a dynamic team environment and build/execute multi-channel marketing plans for Avison Young brokers and their clients.
- Provide design and production oversight for marketing collateral using Adobe Creative Cloud.
- Art direct and coordinate the creation of multi-media marketing deliverables with third-party vendors.
- Participate in presentations, pitches, and meetings as a representative of Avison Young’s marketing team.
- Develop strategy for Avison Young’s digital and web presence in concert with the region’s marketing strategy and aligned with the national marketing team.
- Identify ways to expand Avison Young’s online presence through website, social media, and email marketing strategies.
- Build strong relationships across Avison Young’s organization to leverage marketing and creative resources, Innovation and Insights teams, and leadership.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or 10 years of relevant experience in a commercial real estate or professional services environment.
- Comfortable working from the Toronto head office and visiting other AY Ontario locations.
- Skilled in managing a team, with the ability to guide, coach, and mentor.
- Exceptional communication and leadership skills.
- Very comfortable with ambiguity and change.
- Ability to make decisions with little to no input from a supervisor.
- Ability to build a strategy to meet business goals.
- Ability to think strategically and understand the impact of various approaches.
- Ability to navigate difficult conversations effectively.
- Comfortable presenting in front of clients and leadership.

- Has either a deep skillset within a functional area of marketing or a broad skillset across multiple marketing disciplines.

- Ability to manage a marketing budget, build a marketing budget, and track projects against a budget.
