About the Role

KidsCare Home Health is seeking an Occupational Therapist to provide therapy services to children with special needs in their homes. The company emphasizes a passion for pediatrics, community impact, and work-life balance, with opportunities for internal promotion and strong mentorship programs.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, organize, and conduct medically prescribed occupational therapy for pediatric patients.
  • Direct patients and caregivers in tasks to restore, reinforce, and enhance performance.
  • Examine, evaluate, and administer remedial treatments for pediatric patients.
  • Provide clinical treatment including screenings, evaluations, direct treatment, and family/caregiver training.
  • Coordinate patient care with office staff and other disciplines.
  • Communicate with patients and families regarding progress, problems, and home programs.
  • Refer patients and families to appropriate services.
  • Consult with physicians on patient progress and maintain records.
  • Maintain supplies and equipment.
  • Present at public education functions and in-service presentations.
  • Participate in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) programs.
  • Attend Continuing Education activities.
  • Maintain an adequate caseload with appropriate productivity.
  • Participate in team efforts to achieve company and departmental goals.
  • Collaborate with others through knowledge and skills sharing.
  • Mentor students and new hires.
  • Participate in professional organizations and activities.
  • Demonstrate initiative and independent judgment.
  • Serve as backup service provider for other caseloads as needed.
  • Comply with all company policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy required.
  • Current state-issued professional licensure.
  • Valid state driver license.
  • CPR certified.
  • Pediatric clinical experience preferred.
  • Home health experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and write simple correspondence with effective public speaking in small groups.
  • Excellent critical thinking skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to interpret instruction and solve practical problems.
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite, record keeping, and routine database activity.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of twenty-five pounds.
