About the Role

Peraton is seeking a Business Analyst with application testing expertise to support a mission-critical Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system for a large metropolitan public safety agency. This role operates within a 24x7 emergency response environment where system reliability and accuracy are vital to life-safety operations.

Responsibilities

• Partner with public safety stakeholders and technical teams to gather and document business and system requirements.
• Translate operational needs into functional and technical requirements.
• Facilitate workshops and working sessions to prioritize defects and system improvements.
• Develop and maintain BRDs, user stories, process flow diagrams, and requirements traceability matrices.
• Manage and refine the project backlog in coordination with stakeholders.
• Develop test plans, test cases, and validation scripts.
• Execute functional, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing.
• Validate system enhancements, defect fixes, and configuration changes.
• Document test results and defect remediation status.
• Collaborate with support teams to analyze recurring defects and recommend root cause improvements.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and system modernization.
• Document As-Is system architecture, interface catalogs, and technical debt logs.
• Act as a liaison between operational users and technical teams.
• Provide structured reporting on requirements, testing progress, and issue resolution.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of experience, Master’s degree with 6 years of experience, or High School diploma with 12 years of experience.
• U.S. Citizen or lawful permanent resident authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
• 5+ years of Business Analyst experience in enterprise or mission-critical IT environments.
• 3+ years of hands-on application testing experience.
• Experience supporting production applications in high-availability or 24x7 environments.
• Familiarity with defect tracking and requirements management tools.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
