About the Role

Praxis III is the capstone course of the Engineering Science Foundation Design sequence. It challenges students to apply engineering design, communication, teamwork, and professionalism models to the design and testing of a functioning product prototype. The course requires integrating design, technical, and complementary knowledge gained across the Engineering Science Foundation in a single, major, full-term design project.

Responsibilities

Assess student written individual reflection assignments at three points during the course.
Provide constructive, actionable, written feedback to support active self-assessment and improved self-reflection.
Participate in benchmarking and planning meetings related to grading individual reflection assignments.
Attend course-specific trainings for assessment and feedback in the context of ESC204.

Requirements

Master’s degree in an appropriate discipline (e.g., Applied Linguistics, Second Language Education, Communication, English, Engineering, Education, Technology Studies).
Strong writing and oral communication skills.
TESL certification or equivalent.
Demonstrated commitment to teaching communication.
Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team.
Flexible availability.
Experience teaching and assessing communication instruction in large scale design courses.

This job is posted in accordance with the CUPE 3902 Unit 3 Collective Agreement.
