About the Role

This role involves prioritizing data and information requirements, providing analysis for projects, and supporting decision support systems. The incumbent will translate requirements into applications, recommend innovative analytical approaches, and perform data modeling to ensure precise and secure information delivery.

Responsibilities

• Develop and foster internal relationships across the corporation.
• Provide analytic and consultative support to internal customers and external business partners.
• Mentor colleagues on technical and business aspects of project work.
• Determine how decision support systems provide information for effective business decisions.
• Translate requirements into applications using appropriate decision support and reporting tools.
• Propose solutions to complex business problems using broad experience and technical knowledge.
• Lead the implementation of recommended solutions.
• Define issues and ideas for study and determine the approach for projects.
• Create or adapt methods for analysis, database design, and performance measurement.
• Perform modeling of data sources and flows.
• Work with data management staff to define an operational framework for policies and security.
• Assist with or lead the interpretation of data, identify follow-up actions, and prepare reports or presentations.
• Develop and maintain complex computer programs using 4GL languages (SAS, R, SQL) and database technologies (DB2, Teradata, Oracle).
• Perform other duties as assigned or requested.

Requirements

• 7 years of relevant, progressive experience in the area of specialization.
• Experience in leading projects of varying size and complexity.
• Experience and demonstrated proficiency as a Decision Support Analyst or equivalent training and experience in a business or clinical environment with direct responsibility for applying technology (preferred).

Skills

• Strong technical skills in mainframe, PC, and Internet-based technologies.
• Proficiency using large and complex databases.
• Strong skills using third-party office and report generation products (Microsoft Office, Business Objects, Cognos, Enterprise Guide).
• Strong communication skills.
• Comfortable presenting findings and offering recommendations to senior management.
