About the Role
We are hiring an Onsite IT Support Specialist to be the face of IT in our Austin office, providing daily support for hardware, connectivity, and office operations. This hands-on, in-person role reports to the Director of IT and works alongside an IT Engineer to ensure the smooth functioning of the office for all employees.
Responsibilities
- Provide frontline support for the helpdesk queue and walk-up requests in the Austin office.
- Troubleshoot hardware, peripherals, and basic network connectivity issues for end users.
- Provision and deprovision workstations for employees and maintain them for the Austin office.
- Procure IT equipment as needed and set up new hire workstations.
- Build and maintain an accurate inventory of all computer and IT equipment in the Austin office.
- Maintain and troubleshoot AV equipment in office areas and conference rooms.
- Ensure conference room AV is meeting-ready and respond to issues during meetings.
- Learn and eventually own daily office operations, including opening and closing procedures.
Requirements
- 1-2 years in a help desk or IT support role, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- Entry-level candidates with a strong interest in technology and a passion for helping people are also considered.
- Comfortable troubleshooting hardware and basic networking issues.
- Willingness to learn new technologies and skills.
- Ability to take ownership and follow through on tasks until completion.
- Ability to treat all individuals with patience and professionalism.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on inventory accuracy and documentation.
- Reliable and punctual, as this role anchors daily office operations.
- Ability to explain technical problems to non-technical individuals clearly and empathetically.
