About the Role
This role is responsible for developing and executing long-term category strategies through global sourcing and contract negotiation, while leading a team of procurement professionals. The focus is on driving continuous improvement and cost savings within a compliant procurement framework.
Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and mentor Procurement/Sourcing Specialists/Managers in executing the company’s long-term and short-term plans.
- Oversee category-specific strategic sourcing, risk management, FCF targets, procurement compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support internal stakeholders by addressing procurement customer service needs.
- Reduce costs of purchased goods and services without compromising quality or business continuity.
- Enhance system efficiency and data integrity through automation and new technologies.
- Source innovative products to support business growth.
- Participate in trade shows and industry events to increase company visibility and foster innovation partnerships.
- Manage category expertise and negotiate agreements for segmented spend exceeding $250K USD.
- Resolve significant performance issues.
- Manage budgets, LE, DPO, FCF targets, and report on PPV, markets, risks, CI targets, and KPIs monthly.
- Model leadership competencies and hold the team accountable for a positive work environment and culture.
- Ensure proper onboarding, development, and performance management of staff.
- Fill job vacancies through required processes and maintain company integrity during recruitment.
- Ensure completion of functional compliance training.
- Foster an engaged workforce through strong relationships and execution of employee survey action plans.
- Ensure teams model company values and hold others accountable.
Requirements
- Completion of a college diploma in Supply Chain Fundamentals or Business.
- Minimum 10 years of Procurement or Sourcing experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with ERP or similar business systems.
- Knowledge of manufacturing and equipment for food processing and high-speed packaging, including Bakery Manufacturing and ingredients.
- Financial acumen to manage, measure, and improve operational effectiveness and profitability.
- Strong communication skills (verbal, presentation, written, and listening).
- Strong judgment, analysis, and problem-solving skills with decision-making ability.
- Good ability to motivate and empower team members through feedback and recognition.
- Proficiency in computer systems (MS Office, ERP systems).
- Working knowledge of Lean/Continuous Improvement is an asset.
