About the Role
Compass Charter School is seeking dedicated and mission-aligned individuals to serve on its Board of Trustees. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to the school's governance and educational mission, with both voting and nonvoting advisory positions available.
Responsibilities
- Attend and actively participate in all regularly scheduled board meetings.
- Uphold Compass's mission, values, and commitment to progressive, sustainability-focused education.
- Maintain confidentiality of executive session discussions.
- Disclose any conflicts of interest promptly and recuse when appropriate.
- Complete any required board training.
- Act in the best interest of Compass students and the school community as a whole.
- Bring the community perspective to board discussions (for nonvoting members).
- Participate fully in board meetings (for nonvoting members).
Requirements
- Must have a currently enrolled child at Compass Charter School (for nonvoting family/parent members).
- Submit a brief statement of interest.
- Complete an application through Team Tailor.
- Participate in vetting conversations with board members and the School Leader.
