About the Role

As a Licensed Maintenance Technician, you will contribute to the company’s operational performance through maintenance program compliance and work order scheduling, including reactive and preventative maintenance for technical and non-technical components.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate and uphold Riverside Natural Food’s Core Values.
  • Understand and lead compliance with both Health and Safety and Food Safety practices.
  • Attend breakdown calls and independently troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Escalate recurring problems to the supervisor and work on eliminating them.
  • Perform minor repairs, equipment set up, change over, overhaul, and fabrication as needed.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on manufacturing equipment including food mixer, slab forming machine, horizontal wrapper, robotic pick and place system, case packer, tunnel oven, conveyors, etc.
  • Provide technical assistance/advice in Preventive Maintenance optimization efforts.
  • Assist outside contractors and ensure GMP policies are adhered to.
  • Perform work in accordance with established maintenance processes and practices, including recording work done, data for analysis, logging spare parts consumed, and cleaning the work area.
  • Participate in cross-functional continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain the highest standards of housekeeping and safety in all aspects of the job.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as Millwright Mechanic, Maintenance technician, or Electrician.
  • Required certified NOC 7311 or "Red Seal" Millwright Mechanics or Provincial Electricians Ticket (433A, 442A, 309D).
  • Ability to read technical drawings and electrical schematics.
  • Proven machining skills using lathes, milling, and drill press.
  • Flexibility to work afternoons and weekends.
  • Ability and willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

Skills

  • Working experience with equipment such as vertical wrapper, horizontal wrappers, robotics pick and place, tunnel oven is an asset.
  • Knowledge of PLC, robotics, HMIs, and controls (Allen Bradley) preferred.
  • Hands-on working experience with power transmission systems.
  • Hands-on working experience with electric and electronic controls.
  • Hands-on working experience with pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Hands-on working experience with welding, brazing, and soldering.
  • Hands-on working experience with servo and electric motors.
  • Hands-on working experience with lubrication types and systems.
  • Rigging and hoisting experience is an asset.
  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills.
  • Self-starter with a high level of initiative.
  • Proven desire to learn.
  • Takes ownership and grit for technical fields.
  • Demonstrates humility.

Salary/Compensations

  • $40.25/hr - $45.25/hr CAD
