About the Role
Join Current's Engineering team in New York to build and improve backend services, contribute to system design, and deliver features impacting millions of members. This role offers a salary range of $150,000 - $200,000 and is ideal for someone eager to grow, take ownership, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Take ownership of well-scoped features and deliver them from implementation through production
- Build and maintain backend services within a distributed microservices architecture
- Contribute to data-intensive applications
- Gain exposure to real-time transaction decisioning, stream-processing, and machine learning
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to a culture of engineering quality
- Contribute to engineering best practices including testing, monitoring, and documentation
- Collaborate with product data and business stakeholders to ship features that directly impact Current’s members
Requirements
- 2+ years of software engineering experience, with backend experience using a JVM language, preferably Java
- Strong foundation in algorithms, data structures, and object-oriented design principles
- Experience with RDBMS or NoSQL databases
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
