About the Role
Axon is seeking an experienced Manager of Equity Compensation to oversee the day-to-day administration of the company’s equity plans, including the eXponential Stock Plan (XSP). This role requires familiarity with equity incentive plans and experience with international considerations and tax implications. The Manager will report to the Senior Director – Head of Financial Reporting & Equity and collaborate extensively with various internal teams.
Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end administration of equity plans, including reviewing grants, exercises, releases, and cancellations.
- Review monthly reconciliations and monitor share utilization in collaboration with Accounting, Finance, Payroll, People Operations, Tax, and Legal teams.
- Partner with stakeholders on the evolution of the eXponential Stock Plan.
- Implement best practices, effective controls, and automate workstreams for efficient and accurate processing of equity data.
- Coordinate with Payroll, Accounting, and People Ops on domestic and international stock compensation reporting for employee income.
- Act as a liaison between officers, employees, and brokers for 10b5-1 trading plans and transactions.
- Prepare Forms 3 and 4 to report Section 16 officer and director transactions in SEC filings.
- Provide information for financial statement footnote disclosures.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts related to common stock, additional paid-in capital, and related employee taxes.
- Prepare quarterly equity rollforward.
- Perform other duties, ad hoc projects, and reporting as requested.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related field.
- 7+ years of experience in Stock Administration, with experience in a public company.
- Excellent computer knowledge, including proficiency in Excel and interest in automation and artificial intelligence initiatives.
- Comprehensive knowledge of various types of equity awards and programs.
- Understanding of accounting standards related to equity compensation.
- Exceptional analytical and quantitative skills with a commitment to quality, accuracy, and details.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with an ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and internal/external partners.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with high initiative, flexibility, and a team approach to work.
- Acute attention to detail and well-developed organization and time management skills.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and high standards of ethics and integrity.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
