About the Role

Primary is looking for a Director of Supply Chain Operations to lead our logistics strategy and manage inbound freight operations end-to-end. This role will protect the business against global supply chain volatility, scale our wholesale infrastructure, and mentor a high-performing team, ensuring product lands on time and at the right cost.

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end inbound logistics, negotiating with freight forwarders, carriers, and customs brokers using clear performance metrics.
  • Anticipate global supply chain trends, port conditions, tariff changes, capacity constraints, and geopolitical shifts, building risk-mitigation strategies.
  • Lead operational readiness for wholesale growth, overseeing overseas vendor preparation, EDI/systems development, and process alignment.
  • Establish vendor scorecards, internal reporting, and monthly cross-functional reviews for freight performance, cost metrics, and compliance risk.
  • Own vendor routing and packing guidelines, enforcing compliance and managing reporting or chargeback processes.
  • Partner with the VP of Operations to set departmental goals, forecast inbound freight costs, and manage operational P&L planning.
  • Direct and develop the Supply Chain Operations team, nurturing talent, removing manual process friction, and building modern operational capacity.

Requirements

  • Extensive background directing inbound freight strategy, carrier/forwarder negotiations, and vendor operations from purchase order to final delivery.
  • Experience preparing vendors, integrating EDI systems, and building operational frameworks to launch and scale wholesale partnerships.
  • Deep understanding of macro logistics trends, duty/tariff risk, and direct experience working with U.S. Customs and Border Protection on compliance and clearance issues.
  • Skilled at establishing operational KPIs, building cost forecasting models, and streamlining manual reporting.
