About the Role

As Quality Manager, you will be the day-to-day guardian of product quality, food safety, and technical compliance across TRIP's drinks and supplements portfolio. You will ensure products consistently meet quality standards, regulatory requirements, and premium brand positioning by working closely with co-manufacturers, ingredient suppliers, and internal teams. This is a hands-on, operational role involving supplier engagement, new product launch support, incident management, and maintaining quality controls.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary quality contact for co-manufacturers, ensuring robust quality controls at every production run.
  • Manage supplier approval, ongoing quality KPIs, audit schedules, and corrective action plans.
  • Conduct and coordinate supplier audits, providing constructive feedback for improvement.
  • Perform risk assessments on raw materials and suppliers, escalating material risks with recommendations.
  • Maintain and continuously improve the QMS, including HACCP, prerequisite programs, internal audit schedules, and corrective/preventive action logs.
  • Oversee quality control across the full supply chain: raw materials, production, packaging, finished goods, storage, and dispatch.
  • Manage and coordinate the product testing program, ensuring compliance with schedules, regulations, and internal standards.
  • Manage specification sheets, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and product documentation.
  • Monitor quality KPIs and drive continuous improvement activities.
  • Partner with NPD and R&D teams to provide quality and technical input throughout new product development.
  • Oversee trial sign-off, shelf-life studies, stability testing, sensory alignment, and packaging integrity for new products.
  • Ensure all new products are launched with full specification compliance and complete quality documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant food and drink legislation, regulatory requirements, and third-party certification standards.
  • Manage certification renewals, documentation, and records.
  • Stay current on regulatory developments and proactively flag emerging risks.
  • Lead complaint investigations and quality incidents, including root cause analysis and prevention of recurrence.
  • Support the customer care team with expert technical knowledge on product quality queries and complaint resolution.
  • Coordinate cross-functional problem-solving when quality challenges arise.

Requirements

  • Degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Microbiology or a related discipline.
  • 3+ years of experience in a quality or technical role within the beverage, food, or food supplement sector.
  • Hands-on experience working with co-packers or contract manufacturers.
  • Strong working knowledge of HACCP, GMP, prerequisite programs, and food safety certification schemes (BRC, ISO 22000, GFSI).
  • Proven ability to manage supplier quality: audits, KPI reporting, corrective actions.
  • Confident communicator able to hold suppliers accountable while maintaining collaborative relationships.
  • Experience with food supplement regulation (FSA, MHRA) and associated labelling requirements.
  • Experience with shelf-life and stability testing in beverages, including packaging interactions.
  • Experience in a scale-up or high-growth FMCG environment.
