About the Role
As part of the IWIS/AN Data and Analytics Team, you will provide the data foundation for planning and decision-making at Canada Life. You will offer technical leadership and hands-on skills to support systems for data collection, integration, analysis, and presentation for the Canada Life community. This role involves building Azure Data Factory and ETL processes, writing complex SQL, and supporting operational processes in our Data Warehouse and Microsoft Azure data hub, requiring experienced thought leadership to drive initiatives for development pipelines.
Responsibilities
- Build data pipelines in MS Azure platform supporting structured and unstructured data consumption from various sources using Azure Data Factory and Data Bricks
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze, transform, and model large complex data sets for business insights, operational reporting, and analytics
- Develop data solutions that facilitate re-usability across various business functions
- Develop and support the creation of conceptual, logical, and physical data models
- Lead and support the migration of on-premise data solutions to the MS Azure platform
- Actively contribute to and improve data solutions and best practices
- Collaborate with internal technical stakeholders and business partners for solving data-related technical issues
- Advise others on Data Modelling and the use of database technologies
- Apply enhancements and provide support for initiatives related to existing legacy databases
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in developing data solutions with a strong background in data warehousing (incorporating a Kimball dimensional design methodology)
- Strong relational database development experience in MS SQL is required
- Experience in developing ETL constructs using Informatica or an equivalent tool
- Recent development experience in MS Azure platform (Databricks, ADF), Kafka, Python (or R), Change Spark, and Data Capture (CDC)
- Previous investment and/or insurance experience will be considered an asset
- Good communication and collaboration skills

Salary/Compensations
- $85,200 - $135,200
