About the Role
The RBC CAE Group provides valuable advice and assurance across the business. This role is within the Internal Audit (IA) CFO Group, Global Corporate Treasury Team, focusing on assessing the effectiveness of Internal controls and management practices related to Corporate Treasury, Balance Sheet, and Asset Liability Management.
Responsibilities
- Support Senior Managers and the Director in planning and executing technical/complex Asset Liability Management audit engagements.
- Cover Corporate Treasury Controls across Balance Sheet risk management topics, including Liquidity risk management, Interest Rate Risk management (IRRBB), Funds Transfer Pricing, and Regulatory Capital.
- Document audit working papers and evidence of findings in accordance with IA methodology.
- Lead, support, or assist with the validation of regulatory matters issued by relevant regulatory bodies.
- Conduct effective continuous risk monitoring activities.
- Contribute to annual audit and strategic planning to ensure adequate coverage of key business processes.
- Support the development of audit programs that drive process improvements using predictive data capabilities and tools.
- Continually develop and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders.
Requirements
- 2+ years of previous working experience in Internal Audit (IA) and knowledge of IA methodologies and procedures.
- 3+ years of direct experience in the Financial Services/Banking industry, specifically in Finance/Corporate Treasury (1LoD) and/or Treasury/Balance Sheet Risk Management (2LoD).
- Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, or relevant discipline is an asset.
- Pursuit or completion of professional designation/certification such as CPA/CFA/FRM or any finance or risk-related CFA/FRM is an asset.
- Practical experience demonstrating self-driven capabilities, time management skills, attention to detail, and ability to drive results.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities or manage multiple tasks under tight/competing deadlines.
- Knowledge of key Banking Book products.
- Solid understanding of regulatory requirements for key topics such as Liquidity risk management/FTP/IRRBB and Regulatory Capital is required.
- Proficiency with a range of data and reporting tools, such as Tableau/PowerPoint/Excel/VBA/Python/SQL is a Plus.
- Team player with strong collaborative and relationship building skills.
- Demonstrated experience to work well both individually and cross-functionally with others.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
