About the Role

As a Manager, Business Development, you will own the day-to-day performance, coaching, and development of our Business Development Representative (BDR) team. You will formalize this function, integrate best-practice lead-development motions with Marketing and Sales, and build a repeatable, standardized BDR motion. You will manage a team of 10-12 BDRs, with 12 reports on day one.

Responsibilities

  • Directly manage and coach a team of 10-12 BDRs through weekly 1:1s, pipeline reviews, and call/message coaching
  • Set clear goals and hold reps accountable to activity, pipeline, and quota targets, role-modeling our EAGER values
  • Formalize and integrate best-practice lead-development motions with Marketing and Sales into a repeatable, standardized BDR motion
  • Own hiring, onboarding, and ramp for new BDRs, and manage performance, including recognition and, when needed, performance management
  • Partner with the other BDR managers and cross-functional leaders in Marketing, Demand Gen, and RevOps to keep the team aligned with pipeline goals
  • Report on team and individual performance to BD leadership, and adjust coaching and process based on what the data shows
  • Carry field insight upstream to Marketing and Demand Gen, and bring campaign and product context back down to the reps

Requirements

  • 5+ years of B2B sales experience, including 2+ years of direct people management experience leading BDR/SDR or outbound sales teams
  • Proven track record of coaching high-performing teams, driving pipeline generation, and developing reps through promotion while engaging Director, VP, and C-level buyers
  • Prior experience formally or informally coaching, training, or leading peers, with the peer credibility to earn respect from tenured reps
  • Demonstrated Achiever and Relator talents: sets aggressive goals and drives to them, while building real relationships with individual reps
  • Analytical fluency: comfortable managing a team to a scorecard and tying activity metrics to pipeline and revenue outcomes
  • Fluency with CRM and sales automation tools (e.g., Salesforce, Outreach, Sales Nav, ZoomInfo) for pipeline management and reporting
  • Strong grasp of value-based selling and SaaS business models, and how they translate into coaching frontline reps
  • Proactive and self-directed, with a track record of building systems and closing gaps without being asked
