About the Role
The Associate Director - Lead Software Developer for the FX Cash Trade Processing team will provide leadership to implement, enhance, and support FX Cash trade management systems. This role is critical to RBC's FX Cash trading operations, impacting multiple front and back office groups.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with business sponsors to understand requirements and architect, design, and execute technical solutions.
- Identify business, technology, and people risks associated with a solution.
- Ensure proper quality is maintained to a high standard.
- Lead the team and assist with 2nd line support as necessary.
- Advise on key design and implementation decisions within FX.
- Make decisions alongside the FX technology management team.
- Build strong partnerships with colleagues in QA, support, analysis, trading, and sales.
- Partner with colleagues across all front-office and downstream development teams.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in designing and developing distributed systems (multi-threaded, low latency C++ based systems is a MUST).
- 4+ years of hands-on experience in designing and developing applications using C++.
- Good knowledge of relational databases.
- Good knowledge of any messaging technology (e.g. Solace/IBM MQ, Kafka).
- Ability to write clean, readable C++ code with unit tests.
- Strong team leading experience.
- Ability to multi-task effectively and provide timely updates.
