About the Role
The Sr. Specialist will require a solid understanding of electronics and mechanical concepts, participating in a team environment and interacting with design engineers, manufacturing staff, management, and planning. This role requires the application of electrical/mechanical engineering principles to perform board-level modifications, troubleshooting, testing, hardware repair, and equipment assembly/disassembly for tactical radio accessory products.
Responsibilities
- Implementing and maintaining methods of testing and troubleshooting equipment and systems.
- Performing engineering RF/analog/digital design and measurement tasks, as well as operational tests and fault isolation on radio systems.
- Using a variety of test and measurement equipment to evaluate radio equipment performance.
- Supporting troubleshooting of existing/new products in the manufacturing facility.
- Performing engineering tests, detailed experimental testing, or operational test and fault isolation on boards, systems, and equipment with guidance from engineering.
- Performing electrical and/or mechanical troubleshooting to determine the root cause of problems in equipment.
- Using test and diagnostic equipment to perform checks.
- Utilizing the L3Harris order entry system to order cables, attenuators, and other ancillary items.
- Building cables, fixtures, and ancillary hardware.
- Performing radio and equipment repair.
- Tracking radio and other development assets.
- Supporting calibration duties for the second floor of A&E.
- Supporting field test, engineering, and other organizational technician needs.
- Supporting entry of items (BOMs, ECOs, ECRs) into Division CM System (Agile).
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience.
- Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
- In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
- Proven and effective communications skills and interpersonal skills are a must.
- Must have proven prioritization and planning skills.
Skills
- Solid understanding of electronics and mechanical concepts.
- Exposure to electronic circuit elements such as: ASICs, PLLs, DACs, Amplifiers and Power Supplies desirable.
- Knowledge of IPC-610, IPC-620, and IPC-7711/7721 (certification preferred).
- PWB level modification and build experience (SMT devices, removal, soldering).
- Fixture design and assembly (basic mechanical skills).
- Cable building and repair experience desired.
- Experience in digital, analog, and RF circuitry design/troubleshoot.
- Measurement of key performance parameters using analyzers, generators, oscilloscopes, and meters.
- Understanding of software defined radio products and communications.
- Expertise in evaluation of designs for testability.
- Working knowledge of the fundamentals of In-Circuit Test (ICT), functional board level testing, unit and system level testing, coverage analysis.
- Experience with automation systems including electronic test.

- 9/80 schedule: Employees work 9 out of every 14 days – totaling 80 hours worked – and have every other Friday off.
