About the Role
Chem-Aqua, a subsidiary of NCH Corporation, is seeking a Service Technician to provide hands-on servicing of boiler and cooling water systems for existing customers. This field-based role involves chemical testing, monitoring, calibration, equipment repair, and system inspections.
Responsibilities
- Perform assigned water testing and sampling.
- Communicate, record, and maintain relevant information regarding treatment operations.
- Schedule service and sales calls, including daily, weekly, and monthly reporting.
- Accurately report service calls.
- Perform diagnostics on water treatment equipment, including reverse osmosis systems and water softeners.
- Determine system condition, identify malfunctions, and take corrective actions.
- Provide routine preventative maintenance services, including inspection, cleaning, and calibration of system components.
- Assist in identifying additional service needs and opportunities.
- Develop and implement customized solutions for customers.
- Maintain customer chemical inventory, which may include lifting.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Highly motivated, self-starter with the ability to build relationships.
- 3-5 years of work experience in a field using mechanical principles.
- Experience in the water treatment or related industry is a plus.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, with some weekends potentially required.
- Very organized with exceptional follow-through abilities.
- Ability to multi-task in an active working environment.
- Knowledgeable in MS Office applications.
- Knowledgeable in using a computer, tablet, smartphone, and other work-related technology.
- Must be able to perform physical work in HVAC, cooling towers, or boiler equipment environments, including exposure to chemicals, noise, hot & cold temperatures, and inclement weather.
- Required work activities include climbing stairs and ladders (10-30’ in height), sometimes carrying drums of chemicals weighing up to 50 pounds while maintaining a 3-point ladder contact.
