About the Role

The Department of Nursing seeks new faculty to contribute to teaching, research, and guidance in special populations nursing, specifically Maternity, Pediatrics, and/or Psychiatric Mental Health. Faculty will share responsibilities for committee and department assignments, including administrative and supervisory functions.

Responsibilities

  • Teach in the classroom and conduct clinical teaching.
  • Conduct research and publish for tenure and promotion.
  • Develop curriculum.
  • Participate in departmental and college-wide activities and committees.
  • Engage in grant writing, assessment, faculty development, mentoring student projects, and academic advisement.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Nursing required.
  • Doctorate in Nursing or other related area.
  • Expertise in Maternity, Pediatrics, and/or Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing.
  • Didactic experience in the main area of teaching at the collegiate level is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated record of clinical expertise.
  • Experience with assessment and evaluation of student learning outcomes is required.
  • Expertise in primary care throughout the lifespan is required.
  • Hold a current or be eligible for an unencumbered license to practice nursing in Maryland, Washington, DC, or a compact state.
  • Evidence of an active record of scholarship and service at the program, department, and university levels is preferred.
  • Experience with total program evaluation and accreditation is preferred.
