About the Role
As the Senior Analyst, Data and Reporting, you will help report and manage regulatory programs for Canadian Banking, identify reporting needs & lead the design, development and delivery of data driven insights and solutions to fill the needs using Business Intelligence (PowerBI or Tableau) and Data Engineering tools (DataBricks, SAS, SQL, Python). The role is responsible for supporting the delivery of advanced consulting advice in data analytics, providing research and insights, and ensuring senior management has the relevant information to make informed decisions.
Responsibilities
- Create processes that sources, modifies and checks for data quality before loading to the destination tables.
- Design the best way to prepare and store data for end-user reporting.
- Develop reports and answer ad hoc requests.
- Answer and explain data in reports to business users.
- Find client improvement opportunities and build comprehensive data analysis.
- Partner with end users, managers & directors to prioritize work and set goals on deliverables.
- Answer business data questions, investigate data quality/SLA issues and communicate resolution expectations.
- Research industry best practices, tools, and systems for reporting and data analysis.
- Identify and recommend enhancements to automated systems used to create a standardized reporting system.
Requirements
- Proficiency with data engineering tools such as DataBricks, SAS, SQL, Python.
- Proficiency with business intelligence tools such as PowerBI or Tableau.
- Understanding of internal banking processes and how they translate into data outputs.
- Business product knowledge such as mortgages, lending, deposit products, etc.
- Ability to investigate complex problems and make sense of information.
- Ability to communicate detailed information in a meaningful way.
- Ability to take the lead, go above and beyond, and deliver results.
- Ability to continuously evolve thinking and work methods to deliver best results.
- Ability to seek out innovative solutions and embrace evolving technologies.
