About the Role

Help advance Moody Bible Institute's mission by developing and supporting enterprise software solutions that power critical business and ministry operations. Moody is seeking a collaborative, service-minded Software Developer who is passionate about technology, enjoys solving complex problems, and brings strong .NET development experience to a team dedicated to building and maintaining high-impact applications.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, test, maintain, and support enterprise applications using C# and .NET technologies.
  • Write clean, scalable, and maintainable code following established development standards and best practices.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software issues while enhancing existing applications.
  • Participate in Agile development processes, including sprint planning, daily standups, code reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Collaborate with developers, business stakeholders, and technology teams to deliver effective software solutions.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation.
  • Stay current with software development trends, tools, and best practices.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to collaboration, continuous learning, service, and professional growth.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field; equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience developing applications using C# and .NET.
  • Experience working through the full software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, and support.
  • Working knowledge of software design principles and patterns, including Object-Oriented Design and Service-Oriented Architecture concepts.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to learn new technologies quickly.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
  • Experience with Visual Studio, Git, ASP.NET MVC, and RESTful API development.
  • Full-stack development experience using modern JavaScript frameworks.
  • Experience developing SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and database objects.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure and/or Salesforce platforms.
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
  • You have a heart to serve and support others.
  • You are flexible and adaptable when priorities, deadlines, and field conditions change.
  • You work accurately and efficiently with limited oversight.
  • You communicate clearly and stay organized in fast-paced environments.
  • You are comfortable traveling regularly and working across a variety of transmitter and studio locations.
  • You take ownership of technical issues and stay focused until they are resolved.
  • Candidates must demonstrate alignment with Moody Bible Institute's mission, doctrinal beliefs, and Christian values.
  • Employees are required to affirm Moody's Statement of Faith and adhere to Community Standards.
  • This position operates in a professional office environment and follows a Monday through Friday schedule of 38.75 hours per week.
  • Remote employees are expected to attend quarterly on-site departmental meetings.
  • Limited travel and weekend work are typically required.
  • The role also requires close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
