About the Role

Glens Falls Hospital is seeking dedicated individuals to provide first-level patient care, promoting hygiene and mobility. This role offers competitive pay, opportunities for advancement, and tuition reimbursement, allowing you to make a lasting impact in the Glens Falls community.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all aspects of first-level patient care including promoting hygiene and mobility
  • Measure and record patients’ vitals such as temperature and blood pressure
  • Respond to patient/family needs and requests
  • Assist and support physicians/nurses during routine procedures and treatments
  • Report all observations and changes in patient condition to the responsible RN
  • Prepare hospital rooms
  • Change patients’ bed sheets, pillows and turn or reposition patients in their beds
  • Deliver meals to patients and assist with feeding
  • Help patients dress and/or assist with toileting needs
  • Bathe patients
  • Listen to patients’ concerns, record them and report them to a nurse
  • Provide patient companionship when needed

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Passion for caring and supporting others
  • Patient care experience (preferred, not required)
  • Medical terminology knowledge (a helpful plus)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification (can be earned after hire)
