About the Role
The Senior Manager of Technology Product Management provides strategic leadership across multiple product lines or a portfolio of technology solutions, ensuring alignment with enterprise objectives and long-term business strategy. This role is accountable for shaping product vision, driving innovation, and scaling guidelines in product management. In addition to overseeing complex product initiatives, the Senior Manager mentors and develops emerging product leaders, cultivates a high-performing team culture, and partners with senior collaborators to influence organizational direction and deliver transformative business value.
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Product Owners and Product Managers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Take responsibility for team resource planning, workload balancing, and prioritization to ensure effective delivery of product initiatives.
- Own critical initiatives and key results within the Product Management department and drive improvements to departmental processes.
- Define and articulate a vision and strategy for a product portfolio to align delivery, enable business outcomes, and influence enterprise strategy.
- Develop and maintain complex roadmaps across multiple products, balancing short-term delivery with long-term vision and communicating trade-offs.
- Lead large, complex initiatives spanning multiple delivery teams and stakeholder groups.
- Collaborate with engineering, quality assurance, delivery management, infrastructure, and architecture to ensure product development aligns with vision, strategy, and business goals.
- Engage business stakeholders and leadership to shape organizational priorities, secure investment, and align product strategy with enterprise goals.
- Act as an escalation and conflict resolution point for collaborators and senior leaders.
- Define success metrics and objectives at the product portfolio level.
- Advocate for Agile methodologies, influencing key team members to embrace Agile principles.
- Proactively identify long-term risks and potential future threats, adjusting planning and roadmaps to mitigate risks.
- Translate high-level business strategies into compelling cases for technology investment, balancing business outcomes with total cost of ownership.
- Lead central initiatives across teams, provide peer mentorship, and introduce new ideas to advance the product management practice.
- Lead and coordinate change initiatives that span departments, ensuring alignment with strategic business goals and driving adoption.
Requirements
- Proven ability to manage and mentor a team, providing guidance, support, and professional development.
- Experience in setting performance expectations, conducting regular reviews, and fostering a positive team environment.
- Significant experience working as a Product Manager within a software development organization to deliver software applications and/or data solutions with demonstrable business impact.
- Demonstrated experience producing multi-product, multi-year roadmaps, driving strategic product initiatives, and successfully delivering on large-scale technology projects or programs.
- Significant experience working with and/or driving the development of enterprise applications (e.g. ERP, CRM, ecommerce, work management software) and/or data and analytics tools (data visualization, data platforms, data warehousing).
- Deep understanding of current trends and technologies in enterprise applications and data/analytics tools.
- Solid understanding of current technology trends and modern product development practice.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate between technical and non-technical audiences and drive decisions across multiple teams.
- Demonstrated experience managing stakeholders at a senior leadership or executive level, both within and outside of a Technology organization.
- Strong financial skills to optimize resource allocation, balance growth with sustainability, and contribute to broader financial strategy.
- Advanced education in Product Management, Product Ownership, and/or Agile frameworks, such as Certified Scrum Product Owner.
