About the Role

Reporting to the Director of Sanitation, this role provides hands-on leadership to Site Sanitation Leaders and Teams across all manufacturing facilities, ensuring proper execution of cleanliness tasks for the plant, premises, equipment, machinery, and utensils. The role also ensures adherence to food safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Leads by example and fosters an environment of mutual respect and team work.
  • Conducts pre-shift huddles and provides feedback to team members.
  • Leads, coaches, mentors, and trains Site Sanitation Leaders.
  • Coordinates all sanitation activities according to Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP’s).
  • Maintains daily, weekly, and monthly sanitation records.
  • Leads sanitation personnel onsite, ensuring daily requirements and procedures are met.
  • Conducts SWAB tests as necessary.
  • Collects regular water samples, checks PH levels, and maintains accurate records.
  • Maintains excellent working relationships with internal departments, external customers, and suppliers.
  • Follows GMP’s, Food and Health and Safety Regulations.
  • Performs all job responsibilities under the strictest guidelines of the BRC food safety standards.
  • Ensures chemicals used in cleaning are mixed with proper solutions according to supplier specifications.
  • Ensures Health & Safety and Food Safety principles are followed and adhered to.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3-4 years of experience in a sanitation environment (food/bakery experience is desirable).
  • Proven track record of prior leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated leader adept at leading and motivating a team to meet schedule demands.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Simple mathematical abilities.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail, with the ability to detect sanitation issues.
  • Familiarity with internal and external inspections.
  • Ability to manage difficult people.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Flexible to work days, afternoons, nights, and weekends if needed.
  • Working knowledge of GMP's, HACCP, BRC & O.H.S.A required.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
