About the Role
The Account Executive is responsible for retention of co-broker small employer group accounts by maintaining relationships with clients and health insurance carrier representatives, and suggesting new lines of coverage. This is a fully remote position, requiring candidates to be licensed and reside in the central or eastern time zones.
Responsibilities
- Represent Company services in a positive and professional manner to ensure continued sales and Company growth by developing positive business relationships with clients.
- Manage the renewal process for assigned clients.
- Meet with client and/or producer to present the renewal and support documents to gain acceptance of the renewal or commitment to go to market for alternate options.
- Provide information on carrier administrative procedures and product availability, and direction in selection of appropriate group products.
- Provide routine follow-up on service issues and renewals.
- Build and maintain key client and carrier relationships, by phone, e-mail and in person.
- Enroll clients in Employee Benefits communication tools. Demonstrate use of the tools with clients. Introduce resources to new clients and existing clients at renewal.
- Continually seek cross-selling opportunities and suggest new lines of coverage.
- Conduct group meetings/webinars to further educate our customer base on the services we provide.
- Maintain a good understanding of the Company’s products and processes and how clients interact with these products and processes.
- Develop increasing knowledge of insurance industry markets, products, and legal environments to provide a value-added service to clients.
- Listen to the client’s ideas, resolving conflicts, solving problems, and providing timely feedback to the client.
- Actively participate in team meetings, providing input to contribute to the team’s overall success in achieving customer satisfaction.
- Physical requirements include sitting, frequently speaking and hearing, and occasionally standing, walking, bending, crawling, kneeling and the ability to lift up to 25lbs.
Requirements
- Insurance Producer’s License required.
- Associates degree preferred.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in small group employee health benefits.
- Good knowledge of carrier plan features, benefits, and underwriting guidelines.
- Understanding of insurance products, preferably attained through working with a group health insurance broker or carrier.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook Exchange.
- Proficient with various web browsers, most notably Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge.
- Communicate with all levels of internal and external personnel, both verbally and in writing.
- Read and comprehend carrier plan features, benefits and underwriting guidelines, and Company guidelines.
- Develop and maintain good working relationships.
- Determine when issues need to be escalated to a higher level.
- Work in and contribute to a positive team environment.
- Manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
- Candidates must be licensed and currently live in the central or eastern time zones.
