About the Role
RSM's International Tax Business group is seeking a manager to serve internationally active financial service clients, focusing on technical expertise, people management, and client service.
Responsibilities
- Advise financial services clients on international tax planning and structuring, including multi-jurisdictional tax adherence and cross-border transaction analysis.
- Develop tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities for fund investors.
- Review U.S. international reporting, including Forms 5471, 5472, 8865, 8858, 8804/8805, 1042/1042-s, and Schedules K-2/K-3.
- Build and review tax models for client scenarios, including GILTI, income sourcing, FTC, FDII, foreign currency rules, and prospective international tax changes.
- Manage multiple complex issues, communicating non-technically to facilitate client and service team understanding.
- Manage risk for both the client and the firm.
- Collaborate with RSM member firms globally.
- Provide internal and external ITAX training in the financial services area.
- Manage and develop teams of ITAX professionals, including training, mentoring, and supervision.
- Facilitate engagement risk and financial performance, including billing, collections, and budget management.
- Leverage technology solutions and optimize processes for tax operations.
- Assist with business development for new and existing clients.
- Collaborate with other practice groups and non-U.S. RSM affiliate firms.
- Manage, direct, monitor, and deliver multiple client engagements.
- Maintain active communication with clients to manage expectations and satisfaction.
Requirements
- Requires a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
- Requires one of the following: CPA or JD.
- Requires a minimum of five (5) years of experience in Public Accounting with a focus in International Tax.
- Requires a minimum of two (2) years of experience in the financial services industry.
- Experience with International Tax compliance, including Forms 5471, 5472, 8865, 8858, 1118, 1042/1042-s, and Schedules K-2/K-3.
- Working knowledge of inbound and outbound tax structuring, planning, and compliance for partnerships, foreign tax credits, and worldwide tax minimization.
- Strong technical skills in accounting, tax preparation, and review within international taxation.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Working knowledge of transfer pricing and ASC 740.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Experience with a national or large regional accounting firm.
