About the Role
As a Porter in one of HELP USA’s shelters for people experiencing homelessness, you’ll help provide our residents a clean and well-maintained living space that feels as much like home as possible during their stay with us.
Responsibilities
- Cleaning (sleeping areas, bathrooms, offices, windows, floors, grounds, etc.)
- Garbage and trash removal
- Painting
- Landscaping
- Snow removal
- Minor repairs
- Other maintenance-related assignments
Requirements
- Can lift 75 pounds.
- Can operate small machinery, power tools, and hand tools.
- High School Diploma or equivalent OR equivalent experience and skills.
- Experience in maintenance.
- Some basic knowledge of wiring, boilers, and plumbing.

Salary/Compensations
- Actual compensation will not be less than the applicable minimum wage, prevailing wage, or exempt salary requirements under federal, state, and local laws.
