About the Role

As a Porter in one of HELP USA’s shelters for people experiencing homelessness, you’ll help provide our residents a clean and well-maintained living space that feels as much like home as possible during their stay with us.

Responsibilities

  • Cleaning (sleeping areas, bathrooms, offices, windows, floors, grounds, etc.)
  • Garbage and trash removal
  • Painting
  • Landscaping
  • Snow removal
  • Minor repairs
  • Other maintenance-related assignments

Requirements

  • Can lift 75 pounds.
  • Can operate small machinery, power tools, and hand tools.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent OR equivalent experience and skills.
  • Experience in maintenance.
  • Some basic knowledge of wiring, boilers, and plumbing.

Salary/Compensations

  • Actual compensation will not be less than the applicable minimum wage, prevailing wage, or exempt salary requirements under federal, state, and local laws.
