About the Role

HOK is seeking a design professional to lead and coordinate project documentation, ensuring design intent is maintained from concept through construction. This role involves technical resolution, team supervision, and client interface to deliver high-quality project outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the overall design intent of the project is incorporated into detailed documentation.
  • Monitor the design process from conceptual phase through construction administration.
  • Provide technical resolution and coordination for a defined portion of a project.
  • Perform product research and assist in writing specifications.
  • Check completed reports, plans, estimates, and calculations for accuracy.
  • Set the overall strategy for producing documents, including defining data organization and BIM elements.
  • Set up project team software parameters and manage standards.
  • Foster and maintain a collaborative professional working relationship with the Project Leadership Team.
  • Communicate with other disciplines, vendors, and contractors to ensure incorporation of all information into project requirements.
  • Ensure construction detail documentation conforms to quality assurance, quality control, and best practice standards.
  • Supervise the preparation of technical drawings by less senior staff.
  • Act as team leader on certain projects.
  • Mentor and direct the work of less experienced staff.
  • Foster a green workplace through sustainable work practices.
  • Develop a positive relationship of trust with client leadership.
  • Communicate with client representatives to verify design requirements, progress, and delivery.
  • Foster a commitment to external and internal client service.
  • Coordinate and track shared electronic documentation and files.
  • Assist in planning and conducting work, making minor adaptations to working drawing sets.
  • Meet with municipal building department and other governing agency officials to coordinate approvals.
  • Write reports and memos to consultants and vendors to issue changes and track resolutions.
  • Provide technical support and project communications to the team.
  • Attend on-site visits, field reviews, and project meetings.
  • Prepare and coordinate the review of contractor’s schedules and submissions.
  • Assist the Specification Writer in product research and material selection.
  • Involve with specification set-up and drawing coordination.
  • Provide support to team members for specific market, discipline, or expertise areas.
  • Participate in team meetings to resolve project issues and ensure schedule adherence.
  • Participate in review of project costs, budgets, and adherence to schedule.
  • Prepare meeting minutes of consultant coordination meetings.
  • Prepare 2D and 3D presentation/design drawings and build models for client/project team review.
  • Incorporate Integrated Sustainable Design solutions into projects.
  • Participate in business development meetings to target project, client, or market opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture or interior design required
  • 10 plus years’ experience preferred
  • LEED credential required within 12 months of employment

Skills

Salary/Compensations

  • $105,000 to $125,000
  • Other compensation may include a discretionary bonus
