About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Lead Enterprise Architect to support a Government Client by providing strategic leadership for the Enterprise Architecture (EA) function. This role will oversee Enterprise Architecture teams, establish governance frameworks, drive modernization initiatives, and align architecture practices with AI-assisted delivery.
Responsibilities
- Lead Enterprise Architecture teams across Corporate Products, Transportation, and Business Architecture.
- Establish day-to-day operational processes, including standups, intake triage, prioritization, and architecture decision support.
- Mentor architects and promote architectural excellence across product teams.
- Define and implement Enterprise Architecture governance, standards, and engagement models.
- Establish architecture review processes and decision-making frameworks.
- Drive consistency across enterprise architecture practices.
- Support enterprise modernization initiatives.
- Integrate AI-driven architecture methods into enterprise architecture workflows.
- Assess team capabilities and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
Requirements
- 15+ years of Enterprise Architecture leadership, including leading EA teams, defining frameworks, establishing governance, and driving enterprise-wide architecture programs.
- 10+ years of experience with EA frameworks including DoDAF, UAF, TOGAF, BEA, and ETP.
- 15+ years of Systems Engineering experience designing and modernizing large-scale systems across multiple domains.
- 7+ years of Cloud Architecture experience with AWS and Google Cloud, including cloud migration, modernization, and secure cloud adoption.
- 5+ years implementing Zero Trust Architecture (NIST ZT).
- 10+ years designing Microservices and Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) solutions.
- 3+ years applying AI to architecture methods, modernization workflows, and decision support.
- 10+ years of Enterprise Architecture consulting in complex federal or state government environments.
- 5+ years of experience supporting IT acquisition reform and enterprise transformation initiatives.
- 10+ years advising CIOs, CTOs, and senior executives on enterprise architecture strategy.
- 10+ years mentoring architects, building technical capability, and improving architecture maturity.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 20+ years of total experience in Enterprise Architecture, Systems Engineering, or Modernization Leadership.
- Proven ability to stabilize and mature Enterprise Architecture functions within complex organizations.
- Strong communication, leadership, stakeholder management, and collaboration skills.
