About the Role
Teneo is seeking an experienced Associate Director for its Financial Communications team, focusing on private capital clients and broader private markets commercial development. This role is crucial for contributing to the firm's reputation, profitable growth, and client retention by leading accounts, delivering high standards, inspiring innovation, and developing talent.
Responsibilities
- Lead large integrated teams to deliver impactful client strategies.
- Establish long-term senior client relationships through strategic counsel.
- Drive growth with existing clients and generate new business leads.
- Provide market insight and intelligence via networking.
- Manage client servicing, profitability, forecasting, and budgeting.
- Foster a knowledge-sharing environment with clients and colleagues.
- Innovate for clients and the team by challenging the status quo.
- Motivate teams through mentoring and coaching.
- Manage and coach Senior Consultants, Consultants, and Associate Consultants.
- Work with Managing Directors to learn and contribute.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in a senior role in financial communications, IR advisory, or in-house.
- Financially literate with a strong understanding of financial reporting and corporate transactions.
- Excellent understanding of financial markets and business media.
- Proven track record in client retention and relationship management.
- Effective media and City network and engagement capability.
- Ability to anticipate client needs and deliver strategic advice to senior clients.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Effective presentation skills.
- Proven business development experience and ability to cultivate and convert new business leads.
- Well-informed and knowledgeable on market trends.
- Credible 'voice' to both client and internal stakeholders.
- Collaborative approach, fostering good working relationships and performing under pressure.
- Strong team leader creating high-performing and motivated teams.
