About the Role

The Human Agent Tooling team builds software for Chime's support agents, enabling them to resolve member issues quickly and safely. The team's mission is to make every human support interaction faster, safer, and more effective. This involves modernizing the agent experience, building safer access controls, and improving system integrations, with close collaboration with Product, Operations, and agents.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the tools agents use to view member context, manage cases, and take action, building features that make agents' day-to-day faster and less error-prone.
  • Help build systems that aggregate member information and surface it to agents at the right moment.
  • Work on permissions and guardrails that determine agent actions on member accounts, ensuring correctness and reliability.
  • Build and maintain connections between agent tooling and other Chime systems.
  • Add logging, monitoring, and dashboards to track tool performance and identify issues early.

Requirements

  • Some professional software development experience (roughly 1+ years) or equivalent through internships, projects, or a strong CS foundation.
  • Exposure to Ruby on Rails or a comparable web framework, or eagerness to learn it.
  • Familiarity with working against a database.
  • An appreciation for maintainable, well-tested code.
  • A strong desire to learn and to dig into how things actually work.
  • Curiosity about the people who use what you build.
