About the Role
AECOM seeks an experienced Executive to serve as a Client Account Manager (CAM) for the Army Account Team within the National Government's DOD program. This high-visibility role offers an opportunity to influence AECOM's internal strategy through client development leadership and build long-term relationships with stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Drive sustainable and reproducible Account growth for the DOD Army Team within National Governments.
- Develop and manage strategic plans, identifying external drivers and resource allocation for growth.
- Conduct competitor and SB analyses.
- Coordinate and collaborate with Regional Business Line and Business Line Leaders (BLLs).
- Develop opportunity targets based on market conditions and client acquisition strategies.
- Negotiate goals with BLLs and inform Regional Executives.
- Develop and maintain a pipeline of opportunities and growth targets.
- Flow down goals to Regional Engagement Teams.
- Monitor and support Program/Project opportunities.
- Continuously improve overall Portfolio Quality and optimize across Regions/BLs.
- Maintain situational awareness of account performance, ensuring bookings and pipeline align with projections.
- Develop brief situational reports on performance discrepancies.
- Review and update the SF pipeline weekly, ensuring capture plans for major pursuits.
- Assist with teaming and negotiating.
- Ensure coordination with FBS & Marketing for maximum support.
- De-conflict issues among BLs.
- Facilitate Risk Mgmt sign-offs, pricing, proposal review, and other federal requirements.
- Own major proposals.
- Monitor Program Manager performance for achieving bookings against contract capacity.
- Oversee sub positions and non-productive relationships.
- Develop strategies with BLs to assist underperforming contracts.
- Lead and manage key relationships at all major clients.
- Optimize X-sell opportunities.
- Oversee corrective actions and monitor recoveries to ensure client satisfaction.
- Develop plans to lead client engagements in coordination with BLs.
- Maintain situational awareness and serve on JV Boards for larger programs.
- Work closely with FBS to ensure FAR compliance.
- Maintain situational awareness of contract performance.
- Personally review all CPAR reports and rebuttals.
- Communicate with major PgMs at least monthly.
- Maintain an Account level Focus Group communication strategy.
- Communicate progress up the NG chain.
- Work positively across Divisional boundaries.
- Lead business line reviews of the Army account to maintain the pipeline.
- Promote the AECOM/NG brand and inspire participation in professional activities.
- Be a prime mover in building the federal team of teams.
- Spread the vision and team accolades.
- Be responsible for client relations, market analysis, strategy development, positioning, capture and management of client contracts worldwide.
- Develop and execute strategic and client account plans to achieve annual targets and grow the program year over year.
- Act as an advocate for the assigned Account, providing professional technical services.
- Lead and manage programs, establishing strategies and driving growth for the assigned Account.
- Lead and coordinate engagement with the client, identifying new opportunities and winning task orders and new contracts.
- Monitor the performance of team members executing professional technical services.
- Lead discussions to resolve client issues or concerns.
- Act as an ombudsman to spot and de-conflict organizational conflict of interest issues.
- Report to one of the Account Directors for the National Government’s Business Lines.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering or other related disciplines that aligns with AECOM’s Business Lines.
- 15+ years of experience working with US Federal government agencies on Architect-Engineering programs.
- 6+ years in a leadership role.
- Travel required throughout CONUS and some OCONUS.
- US citizenship is required.
Skills
- In-depth knowledge of consultative selling approaches.
- Outstanding communication skills.
- Expert negotiation skills.
- Expertise in project management for complex, multi-country, multi-business unit deals.
- Knowledge and/or willingness to quickly learn and adapt to AECOM's entire portfolio.
- CRM (Salesforce) experience is a plus.
